Phone Staffer Caller: Hello?

Lead: Yeah, hi, uh, good morning.

Phone Staffer Caller: Good morning.

Lead: Excuse me?

Phone Staffer Caller: Yeah, I’m looking for Roger, please. Roger (redacted)?

Lead: Oh, who’s calling, please?

Phone Staffer Caller: Yeah, this is Chris. I’m with (redacted).

Lead: Chris with what mortgages?

Phone Staffer Caller: (Redacted), like ready set go.

Lead: Ready, that’s a good way to do it.

Phone Staffer Caller: Yeah.

Lead: Well, Roger’s at work, and…

Phone Staffer Caller: Oh, I see.

Lead: I’m his wife.

Phone Staffer Caller: Oh, well, Mrs. (redacted), I just want to say have a lovely day today. The reason for my call is that we’re actually calling all the homeowners in this area because our record shows that you guys have an FHA loan and you’re currently sitting at 6.75 interest rates. Is this correct?

Lead: Correct. Yes, you’re very correct.

Phone Staffer Caller: Yup, and that’s exactly the reason why we’re calling Mrs. (redacted), because, well, honest, truth be told, 6.75% is actually through the roof and that’s actually a pain. Since we’re in the area right now calling all the homeowners, what I do is ask you guys if you’ve got a best time of the day where both you and Mr. (redacted), Roger, can actually sit down and expect a phone call from one of our loan officers. They will be reaching out so they can calculate the best rate that can tremendously trim down the 6.75 interest rate and the savings that we could get you.

Lead: Okay. Let me tell you what we’re going to do. The mortgage company that we were with, we were going to refinance because the rates dropped. However, the amount that they wanted for the mortgage origination fees and all the other fees outweighed what we would have to. It outweighed the money it would save us over the next couple of years.

Phone Staffer Caller: Oh, I see. Well, to tell you honestly, there’s no pressure here, Mrs. (redacted). We’re merely just trying to reach out so probably you could have a little bit of leeway to shop around. We just wanted you to listen to what our loan officer has to offer, but we’re not trying to convince you to sign up or refinance or something like that.

Lead: Okay, because that was something that we were definitely interested in and were moving forward to doing. They told us how much it was going to cost us to do it, and we had been told we were in a window where we didn’t have to go back and do a lot of work that we did when we initially bought the house, which was less than a year ago.

Phone Staffer Caller: Okay.

Lead: But when it came down to what the charges were going to be, it was about at least half of the charges of what they charge you to close before right. Like I said, it ended up just not being feasible. However, my husband and I work from home. My husband works during the day. If they don’t mind just talking to me and me relaying the information to him, I’d be more than happy to speak with somebody to see what the options are.

Phone Staffer Caller: I’ll be honest, Mrs. (redacted). We’d be more than happy to accommodate that ma’am. That’s actually just about the way that we wanted—just to hear out what our loan officer has to offer. I’m just actually an appointment setter. Mrs. (redacted), if you don’t mind, is your first name Shay?

Lead: It is.

Phone Staffer Caller: Correct, Shay? I hope you don’t mind me calling you by your first name.
